FCMG implemented a web
based project management system that is saving the project
time and money, allowing the project team, PM, A/E's, contractor
and owner, to interface with one another, making "real
time" availability of all data and documentation.
The system allows for red-lining of CAD drawings and digital
photos while discussing needed changes while team members
are located in different offices. The various security
levels ensure that the team members only have access to
features that pertain to their role on the project. Most
construction segments of the program was done between the
hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., keeping passenger interferences
to a minimum.
Since San Antonio is one of the most desired convention
destinations in America, one of FCMG's challenges on the
concessions portion of this program was coordinating the
phasing of the concessions program while keeping the airport
fully functional and operational. FCMG was not only successful
at doing so, but the quality of work also speaks for the
level of professionalism that FCMG attains even during
the most taxing project experiences.
