The San Antonio International Airport Expansion
Program includes a new Terminal B, consisting of a five-story
2,815 space parking garage, terminal roadway and utility
improvements, an extension of the elevated “departures” level
and roadway renovations.
The Program Management Team (PMT) is comprised
of Jacobs, FCMG and Parsons Brinckerhoff. The PMT is providing
program and construction management services on the San
Antonio International Airport’s $433 million expansion
program, which is a multi-year program to accommodate the
growth of the City of San Antonio while improving facilities
and the passenger experience.
The major projects in the Airport Expansion Program include
a new Terminal B, a new five-story 2,815 space parking
garage, terminal roadway and utility improvements, including
an extension of the elevated “departures” level
roadway renovations to the existing Terminal 1, in-line
baggage handling system, demolition of Terminal 2, extensive
apron improvements and final addition of a new terminal
facility – Terminal C.
The PMT is also providing under the Program Management
Services Agreement, additional planning and support services
to the Aviation department, to include: ground transportation
planning, curb front and traffic analysis, Terminal 2 tenant
relocation, parking and access control system, wayfinding
signage master planning, cell phone lot coordination along
with a Terminal Area Study.
The delivery methods selected for the program include:Construction
Management At-Risk, Design-Bid-Build, and Design-Build.
The CM At-Risk delivery method used on the Terminal ‘B’ Project
is the first such delivery method used on a City of San
Antonio Project.
